Outside software, I'm happiest exploring a new place with my wife, finding good food, and walking through unfamiliar neighbourhoods without rushing.

I'm based in Tunisia and recently got married. Some of my favourite memories have come from travelling through Bali, Japan, and Vietnam. Travel keeps me curious, observant, and open to how differently people live and think.

01What is a difficult engineering problem you solved?

At StarKey, transaction signing could fail because browser-extension background messages arrived in different orders across Chrome, Firefox, and Brave. I isolated the race conditions, hardened the messaging lifecycle, and extracted a shared state layer across all three builds. The result was a more dependable signing flow with less rendering jank in a security-sensitive part of the product.

02How do you stop AI-generated features from becoming fragile?

On Summon, I avoided unbounded code generation. Agents could select only approved reusable components, every selection passed through typed schemas and Zod validation, and explicit handoffs separated product intent, design decisions, and implementation. That made generated interfaces predictable enough for production instead of impressive only in a demo.

03Can you share a measurable performance improvement?

I cut the initial load time of Summon's main workspace surfaces by 60%. The work combined generated typed API clients, TanStack Query caching with normalized state, and route-level code splitting across the Next.js App Router codebase.

04Are you mainly a frontend engineer?

Frontend is where I am deepest, but my ownership is broader. Compass includes telemetry ingestion, realtime services, structured APIs, multi-tenant architecture, an MCP server, and Datadog/OpenTelemetry observability. I am comfortable following a product problem through the interface, backend, data, and delivery layers.

05What is your Web3 experience?

I have shipped self-custodial wallet flows, multi-wallet connection and signature verification, smart-contract interactions, onchain governance, reward distribution, and Tezos marketplace experiences. I have worked with wagmi, viem, thirdweb, Reown/WalletConnect, RainbowKit, EVM, Solana, and Tezos.

06How do you work with teams and time zones?

I currently lead product engineering in a remote US-based team and have owned architecture and delivery across 11 engineers. I work from Tunisia in UTC+1, with full overlap for European teams and practical overlap with US East. I am open to remote roles and visa-sponsored relocation.
